RECIPE
STEP 1-
For outer covering of faraa , take rice flour in a bowl , add a pinch of salt and knead it with hot water. Once the dough is done , keep it aside.
STEP 2 -
In a separate bowl take soaked and coarsely grounded channa dal, add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chillies along with hing, red chillli powder, turmeric and salt and mix it well. Your filling is done.
STEP 3 -
In broad pan add 2 glasses of water and bring to a boil.Put a strainer or a perforated plate on the pan. Grease the plate with some oil.
STEP 4 -
Now take small portions of dough and roll it gently using rolling pin.
STEP 5-
Cut out circle with the cutter and place a teaspoon of the channa dal mixture on the circle and fold them into halves to form a semicircle.
STEP 6 -
Slowly arrange the faraa on the perforated plate on boiling water and cover with a lid.
STEP 7-
Once the faraas are cooked, after 5 minutes, take them out and serve it with coriander chutney.
(For fried faraas,you can fry them with mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chilli)
